He said that the aim of the Walk-For-Life’ was to `demonstrate the peaceful mission of Islam to the general public, in contrast to the erroneous opinion of some segment of the society, who associate Islam with terrorism.

Mr Mutiu Abdul Rahman, the field training officer of the Nigeria Aid Group, The Lagos State Charter and one of the programme collaborators, stressed the importance of the physical fitness to human’s physical and intellectual  development. “It is necessary that we give ourselves periodic and collective general exercise apart from the ones we engaged in as individuals, in order to remain at alert at all times,” AbdulRahman said. Also speaking, Mr Abdul Rasaq Iyiola, a one time Director of Studies, Muslim Student Society of Nigeria, Surulere Area Council, noted  that it was necessary to build up a  collaboration effort with other organisations to demonstrate  peace and good governance which Islam preaches.
